Ambulance Project For The Lebanese Red Cross
Since
the beginning of its activities, the Rotary Club has worked to create
a better world. This is the reason why the Matching Grants Program
was created. This program gives every Rotary Club in the world the
chance to achieve significant projects that help the evolution of society,
especially when these projects are above the means of the club alone.
And, like every Rotary Club in the world, the Rotary Club of Zgharta-
Zawieh never stops trying to improve the welfare of its society.
Since
1991, the Lebanese Red Cross Foundation has serves region of Zgharta-
Zawiehby operating over 500 rescue missions every month. And every
resident inside this area (which includes 52 villages, 52,000 residents)
has been able to witness the difference that the Red Cross services
have made in their daily life. But we noticed that the people's needs
for the Red Cross help are increasing every day. And, as Rotarians,
we knew that we should help.
After having studied all the opportunities, the members of the Rotary
Club Zgharta - Zawieh agreed that the most suitable project would be
to obtain a fully equipped ambulance in order to serve a larger number
of people. The Rotary Club Of Hollywood provided the matching funds
to accomplish this matching grant project with the help of RI.
